In short: there are three ways to open a Ditec gate with your phone. The manufacturer's own route, Ditec GATE CONNECT: the app that controls compatible Ditec operators over Bluetooth, and remotely with an optional Wi-Fi or GSM accessory. A wired module from another brand on the control board. Or, with no wiring at all, 1Control SOLO: it copies the Ditec remote you already use (BIX LG4, BIX LP2, BIX LS2, GOL4, GOL4C) and opens from the app over Bluetooth, with no internet at the gate. The ZEN cannot be copied and the old BIX2, BIX4 and BIXAG4 at 40 MHz are quartz remotes: for them the route is SOLO + KIT.
Two details decide: the operator, which Ditec lists as compatible with GATE CONNECT or not, and the exact model of your remote. The general method is in our guide on how to open a gate with your smartphone. The information on GATE CONNECT comes from the manufacturer's website.
Ditec gate and phone: the 3 routes side by side
| Solution | What you need | Installation | Internet needed? | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ditec GATE CONNECT, from the manufacturer | A compatible Ditec operator and the GATE CONNECT app | Set up by the installer; Wi-Fi or GSM accessory for remote use | Not at the gate (Bluetooth); yes for remote use | Compatible operators only: check on an older system |
| Wired module from another brand | A Wi-Fi or GSM module, a power supply, signal at the gate | Cable to the push-button input of the control board | Wi-Fi: almost always; GSM: mobile network | Work inside the control board |
| 1Control SOLO, wireless | A working Ditec remote from the list and the 1Control app | No cables: copy from the app, battery-powered SOLO near the gate | Not to open (Bluetooth); yes remotely, with the LINK hub | Bluetooth range 15-20 m; ZEN and quartz BIX: SOLO + KIT |
On a recent Ditec operator looked after by an installer, GATE CONNECT is the natural choice; with a good signal at the gate, a wired module does the job. When the control board cannot or should not be opened (rented home, shared gate, warranty), copying the remote to SOLO is the only route that touches nothing.
Ditec GATE CONNECT or SOLO: what the Ditec app does
GATE CONNECT is Ditec's app for the people who use the gate. According to the manufacturer it opens, closes and checks the status of the automatic entrance, sends real-time notifications on the operator, groups automations into contexts (for example HOME → Garage) and lets you authorise temporary access for an installer. In front of the gate it connects over Bluetooth; remotely it works over Wi-Fi or GSM, which require optional accessories. The installer sets up the system with a separate app, GATE CONNECT PRO. Among the compatible automations Ditec lists recent models such as ION B, AIR, SPID and BOX B. See the user app page on the Ditec website.
Mind the similar name: DOOR CONNECT is Ditec's free app for automatic sliding doors, used with the COM501 and COM502 Bluetooth selectors. It is not meant for gates or garage doors.
The difference with SOLO is the approach. GATE CONNECT talks to the operator itself and tells you its status in return; SOLO leaves the control board as it is and uses the remote that already works, so it depends on the remote model, not on the operator. With 1Control, the open or closed status comes from an opening sensor that works with LINK. On a fifteen-year-old Ditec gate with BIX or GOL remotes, ask the installer whether the operator is compatible before you look for the app.

No work on the control board: 1Control SOLO copies the Ditec remote
1Control SOLO learns the radio signal of your Ditec remote once and sends it again whenever the app asks. It is connected neither to the control board nor to the mains: two C batteries last about two years at around ten openings a day. It is weatherproof and mounted near the gate. The 1Control app guides the copy:
- Check the remote model (table below, then the compatibility checker).
- Hold the remote close to SOLO and keep the button pressed until the app tells you to release it.
- With rolling-code remotes (BIX LG4, BIX LP2, GOL4) the app may ask you to press PRG on the receiver to complete the activation, as when you add a new remote: this is expected.
- With the gate closed, press the test button the app shows at the end: the gate should start moving.
The remote must work: a lost one cannot be copied. One copy per gate is enough; the standard SOLO handles up to 4 automations, even of different brands, and the original remotes keep working. Family and guests get free access in the app on their phone number. The steps with screenshots are in our guide to copying a garage remote to your phone.
Ditec remotes and SOLO: copies, KIT or quartz
The catalogue of the compatibility checker lists 9 Ditec models: SOLO copies 5, one needs SOLO + KIT and 3 are quartz remotes. The exact model on the label is what counts: GOL4 and GOL4C look alike, but the first is rolling code and the second fixed code (both can be copied).
| Ditec remote | Frequency and coding | With 1Control SOLO |
|---|---|---|
| BIX LG4, BIX LP2, GOL4 | 433.92 MHz, rolling code | Copies |
| BIX LS2, GOL4C | 433.92 MHz, fixed code | Copies |
| ZEN | 433 MHz, rolling code | Needs the KIT: SOLO + KIT |
| BIX2, BIX4, BIXAG4 | 40.685 MHz, fixed code, quartz | Quartz: does not copy, SOLO + KIT; for an extra remote, QZERO |
Catalogue of the 1Control compatibility checker, as of 23/10/2026.
The final word belongs to the compatibility checker, under Ditec: compatibility always means "if the model is on the list".
ZEN or quartz BIX: SOLO + KIT
The ZEN and the BIX2, BIX4 and BIXAG4 at 40 MHz cannot be copied. The route to your phone is then SOLO KIT: a receiver with its own fixed-code remote, connected to the control board by a technician; SOLO copies the KIT remote and your Ditec remotes keep working. It is work on the control board, and if your operator is compatible with GATE CONNECT, the fair comparison is with the Ditec app. In return the KIT works with any control board and opening stays on Bluetooth, with no cloud. If you cannot connect anything to the control board and your remote is not on the list, SOLO is not the right fit for you. If you only need an extra remote for quartz BIX models, 1Control QZERO copies it.
Remootio, ismartgate and GSM modules
Search for how to open a Ditec gate with your phone and you soon find modules that are not made by Ditec. Remootio and ismartgate are smart gate openers wired to the push-button input of the control board, with their own maker's app; both publish pages on Ditec operators, such as a manual for the Ditec ION. A GSM module takes a SIM card, is wired the same way and opens when an authorised number calls (see our GSM gate opener guide). They fit almost any operator, but the control board has to be opened, the module needs power and the gate needs signal. SOLO starts from the radio signal instead: with a Ditec remote from the list, the control board stays closed.
Your Ditec gate from afar, by voice and from the car
On its own, SOLO works over Bluetooth within 15 to 20 metres, less through reinforced concrete: it needs no network, even in an underground car park, but it will not open from the office. To open from anywhere, add 1Control LINK: the hub stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes commands to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres in a straight line. LINK brings Alexa, Google Home, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Siri Shortcuts already work with SOLO within Bluetooth range and, with LINK, from afar too. SOLO AUTO, the version you keep in the car, appears on CarPlay and Android Auto without LINK (see open your gate with CarPlay). All of this also works with the KIT: SOLO + KIT + LINK opens a gate with ZEN remotes from afar.
FAQ: Ditec gates and your phone
Is there a Ditec app to open the gate with a phone?
Yes: GATE CONNECT controls compatible Ditec operators over Bluetooth and, with a Wi-Fi or GSM accessory, remotely too; Ditec lists ION B, AIR, SPID and BOX B among the compatible models. DOOR CONNECT is for automatic sliding doors. Without touching the control board there is 1Control SOLO, which copies a Ditec remote from the list.
Which Ditec remotes can 1Control SOLO copy?
BIX LG4, BIX LP2 and GOL4 (rolling code, 433.92 MHz), BIX LS2 and GOL4C (fixed code): 5 of the 9 models in the catalogue of 23/10/2026. The ZEN cannot be copied and the BIX2, BIX4 and BIXAG4 are quartz remotes: for the phone, the route is SOLO + KIT.
I have a Ditec ZEN remote: how do I open the gate from my phone?
With SOLO + KIT: a receiver connected to the control board by a technician, with its own remote that SOLO copies. The ZEN keeps working. If the operator is compatible with GATE CONNECT, the Ditec app is another option.
Can I open my Ditec gate when I am away from home?
Yes, with the LINK hub: it stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes the command to SOLO over Bluetooth. Without LINK, SOLO only opens from close by, within 15 to 20 metres.
Summary: which route for your Ditec gate
If your operator is one Ditec lists as compatible and the gate has a connection, GATE CONNECT is the manufacturer's route. With a working BIX LG4, BIX LP2, BIX LS2, GOL4 or GOL4C, opening a Ditec gate with your phone becomes a copy of a few minutes on 1Control SOLO; LINK adds distance, voice and car. ZEN or quartz BIX? SOLO + KIT, with a technician, on any control board. The same comparison for another brand is in open a BFT gate with your phone.
