In short: there are three ways to open a DEA gate with your phone. The manufacturer's route is the DEAuser app, which works with a DEA interface fitted by the installer: NET-NODE on DE@NET control boards, or NET-COM over GSM. Then there are wired modules from other brands, such as Remootio. And, with no wiring at all, 1Control SOLO: it copies the DEA remote you already use (GOLD, GENIE, MIO, PUNTO, TR2, TR4) and opens from the app over Bluetooth. The GTI2 and GTI4, DEA's current remotes, cannot be copied: for them there is SOLO + KIT.
Two things decide: the control board and the exact model of your remote. The general method is in our guide on how to open a gate with your smartphone. The information on DEAuser and the interfaces comes from the DEA System website and the app's store listings.
DEA gate and phone: the 3 routes side by side
| Solution | What you need | Installation | Internet needed? | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DEAuser with NET-NODE or NET-COM, from the manufacturer | A compatible control board, a DEA interface, the DEAuser app | Interface connected to the control board by the installer | NET-NODE: you open close by, over Bluetooth; NET-COM: remotely, with a data SIM | NET-NODE only on DE@NET control boards; NET-COM's GSM only where 2G is available |
| Wired module from another brand (Remootio, Wi-Fi relay, GSM) | Module, power supply, Wi-Fi or GSM signal at the gate | Cable to the push-button input | Wi-Fi: almost always; GSM: mobile network | Work inside the control board |
| 1Control SOLO, wireless | A working DEA remote from the list and the 1Control app | No cables: copy from the app, battery-powered SOLO near the gate | Not to open (Bluetooth); yes remotely, with the LINK hub | Bluetooth range 15-20 m; GTI2 and GTI4: SOLO + KIT |
With a recent DEA control board and an installer at hand, DEAuser is the natural choice; with a good signal at the gate, a wired module does the job too. When the control board cannot or should not be opened (rented home, shared gate, warranty), copying the remote to SOLO is the only route that wires nothing.
DEAuser or SOLO: what DEA offers for your phone
DEAuser is DEA System's app for the people who use the gate, on the App Store and Google Play. On its own it opens nothing: the App Store listing says an interface device is needed, and the Google Play listing names NET-NODE and suggests checking compatibility with a technician first. The NETLINK devices page on the DEA website describes two interfaces:
- NET-NODE lets DE@NET control boards talk to the DEAuser app and to DEAinstaller, the installer's app: with DEAuser you open the gate from your phone, close by. DEA's German page calls it a Bluetooth interface.
- NET-COM is a receiver installed in the system: with a data SIM it shows the status of the automation remotely, manages up to 1,500 remotes with time slots and opens with a phone call once enabled. DEA says it connects to control boards of any brand, and that GSM remote connectivity works only in European countries that support 2G.
The difference with SOLO is the approach: DEAuser talks to the control board through an interface that has to be connected, while SOLO leaves the control board as it is and uses the remote that already works, so it depends on the remote model. With 1Control, the open or closed status comes from an opening sensor that works with LINK. On a fifteen-year-old DEA gate with GOLD or PUNTO remotes, ask the installer whether the control board supports NETLINK before you download the app.

No wiring on the control board: 1Control SOLO copies the DEA remote
1Control SOLO learns the radio signal of your DEA remote once and sends it again whenever the app asks. It is connected neither to the control board nor to the mains: two C batteries last about two years at around ten openings a day. It is weatherproof and mounted near the gate. The 1Control app guides the copy:
- Check the remote model (table below, then the compatibility checker).
- Within about 5 metres of the gate, hold the remote against the notch on the left side of SOLO and keep the button pressed until the app tells you to release it.
- With a DEA rolling-code remote (GOLD R, GENIE R 273, MIO TR, PUNTO 278, TR2, TR4) the app may ask for an authorisation step on the receiver, the same one used for a new remote: it explains what to do.
- With the gate closed, press the "open/close" button the app shows at the end: the gate should start moving.
The remote must work, with a good battery: a lost one cannot be copied. One copy per gate is enough; the standard SOLO handles up to 4 automations, even of different brands, and the original remotes keep working. Family and guests get free access in the app on their phone number, which can be limited to set days and hours.
DEA remotes and SOLO: what copies and what needs the KIT
The catalogue of the compatibility checker lists 24 DEA models: SOLO copies 16, while the other 8, the whole GTI family, need SOLO + KIT. None of the DEA remotes on the list is a quartz model. The exact model in the battery compartment or on the back is what counts: R or TR usually means rolling code, S or TD fixed code.
| DEA remote | Frequency and coding | With 1Control SOLO (phone) | For an extra remote |
|---|---|---|---|
| GOLD R, GENIE R 273, MIO TR, PUNTO 278, TR2, TR4 | 433.92 MHz, rolling code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| GOLD 238 S1, GOLD 238 S2, GOLD 239 S4, GOLDS, GENIE S, GENIE S 263L, MIO TD, PUNTO 268 | 433.92 MHz, fixed code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| GOLD 306, 306 | 306 MHz, fixed code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| GTI2, GTI2M, GTI2N, GTI4, GTI4M, GTI4N (433 MHz), GTI2 868, GTI4 868 (868 MHz) | rolling code | Needs the KIT: SOLO + KIT | An original DEA GTI, stored on the control board |
Catalogue of the 1Control compatibility checker, as of 25/10/2026.
Just need an extra remote, not your phone? 1Control WHY copies the same models on the list and becomes a pocket remote. The final word belongs to the compatibility checker, under DEA: compatibility always means "if the model is on the list".
GTI2 and GTI4: SOLO + KIT
The GTI remotes (GTI2, GTI4 and the M, N and 868 MHz versions) come with the newer DEA operators, and SOLO does not copy them. The route to your phone is then SOLO KIT: a receiver with its own fixed-code remote, connected to the control board by a technician; SOLO copies the KIT remote and your GTI remotes keep working. It is work on the control board, and here the fair comparison is with DEAuser: if your control board supports NET-NODE, the brand has its own answer. In return the KIT works with any control board and opening stays on Bluetooth, with no cloud. If you cannot connect anything to the control board and your remote is not on the list, SOLO is not the right fit for you. An extra GTI means an original DEA remote, stored on the control board.
Remootio or SOLO
Search for how to open a DEA gate with your phone and you soon find smart gate openers that are not made by DEA. Remootio is one: a module wired to the push-button input, with its own app, and the maker lists the DEA 212E control board as compatible with its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth unit. ismartgate publishes the manual of the DEA 202E control board on its site. Simple Wi-Fi relays and GSM openers are wired the same way. They fit almost any operator, but the control board has to be opened, the module needs power and, for Wi-Fi or GSM, the gate needs signal. SOLO starts from the radio signal instead: with a DEA remote from the list, the control board stays closed and access is shared by phone number. The trade-offs are in wired module or wireless.
Your DEA gate from afar, by voice and from the car
On its own, SOLO works over Bluetooth within 15 to 20 metres, less through reinforced concrete: it needs no network, but it will not open from the office. To open from anywhere, add 1Control LINK: the hub stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes commands to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres in a straight line. LINK brings Alexa, Google Home, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Siri Shortcuts already work with SOLO within Bluetooth range and, with LINK, from afar too. SOLO AUTO, the version you keep in the car, appears on CarPlay and Android Auto without LINK (see open your gate with CarPlay). All of this also works with the KIT: SOLO + KIT + LINK opens a gate with GTI remotes from afar.
FAQ: DEA gates and your phone
Is there a DEA app to open the gate with a phone?
Yes: DEAuser, from DEA System. On its own it is not enough: according to DEA it needs an interface connected to the control board, NET-NODE (on DE@NET control boards) or NET-COM, fitted by an installer. Without wiring anything to the control board there is 1Control SOLO, which copies a DEA remote from the list.
Which DEA remotes can 1Control SOLO copy?
The rolling-code GOLD R, GENIE R 273, MIO TR, PUNTO 278, TR2 and TR4 and the fixed-code GOLD 238 S1 and S2, GOLD 239 S4, GOLDS, GENIE S, GENIE S 263L, MIO TD and PUNTO 268, all at 433.92 MHz, plus the GOLD 306 and 306 at 306 MHz: 16 of the 24 models in the catalogue of 25/10/2026. The GTI2 and GTI4 cannot be copied: for the phone, the route is SOLO + KIT.
I have a DEA GTI2 or GTI4 remote: how do I open the gate from my phone?
With SOLO + KIT: a receiver connected to the control board by a technician, with its own remote that SOLO copies. Your GTI remotes keep working. If the control board is a DE@NET one, there is also DEA's route: the DEAuser app with NET-NODE.
Can I open my DEA gate when I am away from home?
Yes, with the LINK hub: it stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes the command to SOLO over Bluetooth. Without LINK, SOLO only opens from close by, within 15 to 20 metres. On DEA's side, remote use goes through NET-COM with a data SIM.
Summary: which route for your DEA gate
If your control board supports NET-NODE or NET-COM, DEAuser is the manufacturer's route, with an installer. With a working GOLD, GENIE, MIO, PUNTO, TR2 or TR4, opening a DEA gate with your phone becomes a copy of a few minutes on 1Control SOLO, with nothing wired; LINK adds distance, voice and car. GTI2 or GTI4? SOLO + KIT, with a technician. The same comparison for another brand is in open a BFT gate with your phone.
