In short: there are three ways to open a Pujol garage door with your phone. The manufacturers have had their own apps, MyVario from Pujol and Roper SmartDoor from Roper, each with an extra receiver. Smart openers such as Remootio and ismartgate are wired to the operator. And, with no wiring at all, 1Control SOLO copies the Pujol remote you already use (Vario, Marte, Neo, Twin, or the older P15 and ET) and opens the door from the app over Bluetooth, with no internet needed in the garage. Roper remotes (Go, Go Mini 2, Neo, NER1 DCS, Trinary) copy too: in the compatibility checker, all 13 models of the two brands have the same result, and none needs the KIT.
Pujol is a Spanish maker of operators for garage doors, gates and roller shutters, based near Barcelona; Roper, according to its website, makes metal doors and door automation in Cantabria, Spain. The information on the apps comes from the trade press and the app stores, the information on the remotes from the 1Control checker. The basics, for any brand, are in smart garage door opener without Wi-Fi.
Pujol or Roper garage door and phone: the 3 routes side by side
| Solution | What you need | Installation | Internet needed? | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer's app (Pujol MyVario, Roper SmartDoor) | The manufacturer's interface or receiver and its app | Added to the system, with the installer | MyVario: yes (interface on the router); Roper SmartDoor: no (Bluetooth) | To be checked: MyVario is not in the stores, the RSD app dates from 2016 |
| Smart opener from another brand (Remootio, ismartgate, Wi-Fi relay, GSM) | Module, power supply, Wi-Fi or GSM signal in the garage | Cable to the push-button input of the control board | Wi-Fi: almost always; GSM: mobile network | Work inside the control board; Wi-Fi is often weak in a garage |
| 1Control SOLO, wireless | A working Pujol or Roper remote from the list and the 1Control app | No cables: copy from the app, battery-powered SOLO near the door | Not to open (Bluetooth); yes remotely, with the LINK hub | Bluetooth range 15-20 m; remotes not on the list: SOLO + KIT |
With Pujol and Roper the third row is almost always the right one, because every remote on the list copies. When the control board cannot or should not be opened (rented home, shared garage, warranty), copying the remote to SOLO is the only route that wires nothing.
MyVario, Roper SmartDoor or SOLO: the manufacturers' apps
Both brands have offered their own way to open from a phone. In 2018 Pujol presented MyVario: according to the Spanish trade magazine Interempresas, an "Interface Internet/Radio" module that plugs into the home router and talks to the Vario radio system (on the market since 2005) without changing the installation, with an app for iOS and Android. On 25 October 2026 we found the MyVario app neither on the App Store nor on Google Play: before counting on it, ask your installer whether it is still available for your system.
Roper SmartDoor (RSD) was presented in 2012 by Puertas Roper with GeoActio, Xataka Home reported: a receiver installed on the door and an app that registers it by reading a QR code. The listing on the Spanish App Store describes opening over Bluetooth, with no mobile coverage needed, up to about 10 metres from the car, and requires an RSD-compatible receiver; it is still on version 1.0 from 2016, and we did not find it on Google Play.
Both solutions start from an extra receiver from the manufacturer. SOLO leaves the system as it is and uses the remote that already works, with shared access and an opening log in the 1Control app. With 1Control, the open or closed status comes from an opening sensor that works with LINK.

No wiring on the control board: 1Control SOLO copies the Pujol or Roper remote
1Control SOLO learns the radio signal of your remote once and sends it again whenever the app asks. It is connected neither to the control board nor to the mains: two C batteries, already fitted, last about two years at around ten openings a day. It is weatherproof and mounted near the door. The 1Control app guides the copy:
- Check the remote model (table below, then the compatibility checker).
- Within about 5 metres of the door, hold the remote against the notch on the left side of SOLO and keep the button pressed until the app tells you to release it.
- With a rolling-code remote (Vario, Marte, Neo, Twin, Go, NER1) the app may ask for an authorisation step on the receiver, the same one used for a new remote: it explains what to do, a few metres from the door.
- With the door closed, press the "open/close" button the app shows at the end: the door should start moving.
The remote must work, with a good battery: a lost one cannot be copied. One copy per door is enough, not one per person: the standard SOLO handles up to 4 automations, even of different brands, and the original remotes keep working. Family and guests get free access in the app on their phone number, which can be limited to set days and hours and revoked with a tap. The standard SOLO is designed for 10 users, SOLO EVO for 50.
Pujol and Roper remotes and SOLO: every model on the list copies
The catalogue of the compatibility checker lists 8 Pujol and 5 Roper models: SOLO copies them all. None is a quartz remote and none needs the KIT. The model name is on the back of the remote or in the battery compartment; the Vario comes in several versions, so the exact name is what counts.
| Remote | Frequency and coding | With 1Control SOLO (phone) | For an extra remote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pujol Vario 3 Black, Vario 3 Ocean, Vario Mars, Neo, Twin | 433.92 MHz, rolling code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Pujol Marte | 433.85 MHz, rolling code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Pujol P15, Pujol ET | 290 MHz, fixed code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Roper Go, Roper Go Mini 2 | 868.3 MHz, rolling code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Roper Neo, Roper NER1 DCS | 433.92 MHz, rolling code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Roper Trinary | 290 MHz, fixed code | Copies | 1Control WHY |
| Other models, not listed (for example Pujol Vario 4U and Vario Pro, Roper MR MIN) | Depends on the model | Not listed: SOLO + KIT | An original remote of the same brand |
Catalogue of the 1Control compatibility checker, as of 25/10/2026.
Just need an extra remote, not your phone? 1Control WHY copies the same models on the list and becomes a pocket remote. The final word belongs to the checker filtered by brand, Pujol or Roper: compatibility always means "if the model is on the list". If your remote is not there, like the Pujol Vario 4U and Vario Pro, the route is SOLO KIT: a receiver with its own remote, connected to the control board by a technician, which SOLO copies; your remotes keep working.
Remootio, ismartgate or SOLO
Search for how to open a Pujol garage door with your phone and you soon find smart openers from other brands. ismartgate publishes pages for the Pujol STC and Mini Marathon operators: according to ismartgate, its module is added to the existing operator and controls it from the app, remotely too, with notifications when the door opens or closes. Remootio connects with two wires to the push-button input and describes itself as compatible with most gates and garage door openers, with a compatibility checker on its site. Simple Wi-Fi relays and GSM openers are wired the same way. They fit almost any operator, but the control board has to be opened, the module needs power and, for Wi-Fi or GSM, the garage needs signal, which is often missing underground. SOLO starts from the radio signal instead and opens over Bluetooth, even there. The trade-offs are in wired module or wireless.
Your Pujol garage door from afar, by voice and from the car
On its own, SOLO works over Bluetooth within 15 to 20 metres, less through reinforced concrete: it needs no network, even in an underground car park, but it will not open from the office. To open from anywhere, add 1Control LINK: the hub stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes commands to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres in a straight line. LINK brings Alexa, Google Home, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Siri Shortcuts already work with SOLO within Bluetooth range and, with LINK, from afar too. SOLO AUTO, the version you keep in the car, appears on CarPlay and Android Auto without LINK (see open your gate with CarPlay). All of this also works with the KIT, for a remote that is not on the list.
FAQ: Pujol and Roper garage doors and your phone
Which Pujol remotes can 1Control SOLO copy?
All the ones in the checker catalogue (25/10/2026): Vario 3 Black, Vario 3 Ocean, Vario Mars, Neo and Twin at 433.92 MHz and Marte at 433.85 MHz, all rolling code, plus the fixed-code P15 and ET at 290 MHz. Eight models out of eight, none with the KIT.
What about Roper remotes?
They copy too: Go and Go Mini 2 at 868.3 MHz, Neo and NER1 DCS at 433.92 MHz, rolling code, and the fixed-code Trinary at 290 MHz. Five models on the list, five that SOLO copies.
Is there a Pujol app to open the garage door with a phone?
Pujol presented MyVario in 2018, an interface for the home router with an app for iOS and Android, according to Interempresas; on 25/10/2026 the app was on neither the App Store nor Google Play. Roper has Roper SmartDoor, which needs an RSD receiver on the door. Without adding anything to the system there is 1Control SOLO, which copies the remote.
My Pujol remote is not on the list: what can I do?
If the model is not in the checker, for example a Vario 4U or a Vario Pro, SOLO does not copy it. The route is SOLO KIT: a receiver with its own remote, connected to the control board by a technician; SOLO copies the KIT remote and yours keep working.
Can I open my Pujol garage door when I am away from home?
Yes, with the LINK hub: it stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes the command to SOLO over Bluetooth. Without LINK, SOLO only opens from close by, within 15 to 20 metres. LINK also brings Alexa, Google Home and CarPlay.
Summary: your Pujol garage door on your phone
With Pujol and Roper there is no table to study: Vario, Marte, Neo, Twin, Go and NER1 all copy. To open a Pujol garage door with your phone, copy the remote you have to 1Control SOLO, with nothing wired to the control board; LINK adds distance, voice and car, and shared access replaces extra remotes. A remote that is not on the list? SOLO + KIT, with a technician. For another brand of garage door, see open a Hörmann garage door with your phone.
