Open a Proteco gate with your phone: SOLO + KIT explained

Smartphone with the 1Control app in front of a gate: open a Proteco gate with your phone using SOLO + KIT

In short: a Proteco gate can be opened with your phone, but not by copying the remote: the only Proteco model in the 1Control compatibility checker catalogue, the Angie, cannot be copied. There are three routes. The manufacturer's own, the Proteco Open Your World app, which needs a Proteco interface connected to the control board. A smart module from another maker, such as ismartgate or a GSM gate opener. Or 1Control SOLO + KIT: a receiver with its own remote, connected to the control board by a technician, plus SOLO, which copies that remote and opens from the app over Bluetooth, with no internet at the gate. It works with any control board, and your Proteco remotes keep working.

All three go through the control board: what decides is its model and the connection at the gate. The general method is in our guide on how to open a gate with your smartphone. The information on Open Your World comes from the Proteco 2026 catalogue and the app leaflet.

With a recent Proteco control board and an installer you trust, Open Your World is the natural route. If your board belongs to another series, Wi-Fi does not reach the gate or you want one app for gates of other brands too, there is SOLO + KIT.

Proteco Open Your World or SOLO + KIT

Open Your World is Proteco's app for end users, on iOS and Android, built into Tuya's Smart Life platform. According to the manufacturer, it opens, closes and locks the gate or garage door even from afar, shows the status of the operator in real time, shares access with family and co-workers, also for a limited time, sets weekly opening and closing times and sends a notification when the gate opens or something goes wrong. To link the operator to the app you need a Proteco interface: the PQSB02, a universal interface for Q80, Q60 and Q20 control boards, existing installations included, and the PQSK02, a plug-in for Matrix and S-Park operators. The reference is the app page on the Proteco website.

The difference from SOLO + KIT is the approach. Open Your World talks to the Proteco board and tells you the state of the gate in return; remote control goes through the internet, so the interface must be online. SOLO + KIT depends on neither the board series nor the brand, and SOLO opens over Bluetooth even where the gate has no network. With 1Control, the open or closed status comes from an opening sensor that works with LINK. If your board is not on Proteco's list, ask your installer before buying the interface.

Why the Proteco remote cannot be copied

Normally, 1Control SOLO learns the radio signal of the remote you already use and sends it again whenever the app asks, without touching the control board. The condition is that the remote is on the compatibility list. For Proteco the list holds a single model, the Angie, and the checker marks it as not copyable: SOLO does not reproduce its coding, so we do not promise a copy. Other remotes in the Proteco range, such as the TX4334 and the Ikon, are not in the catalogue.

1Control compatibility checker catalogue, updated 23/10/2026: 1 Proteco model, 0 copyable.

Check yours anyway in the compatibility checker, under Proteco: compatibility always means "if the model is on the list". And if all you need is one more remote, 1Control is not the answer: an original Proteco remote, stored on the control board as its manual explains, is enough.

SOLO + KIT: opening a Proteco gate with your phone

SOLO KIT is a 433 MHz receiver with its own fixed-code remote; the cables are in the box. A technician or electrician connects it to the Proteco control board, and for the board each KIT command counts as one more push button. Then 1Control SOLO copies the KIT remote, which is on the list, and from then on the gate opens from the 1Control app. The KIT erases nothing from the receiver memory: your Proteco remotes keep working.

  1. Check your remote in the compatibility checker: if it cannot be copied, the route is SOLO + KIT.
  2. Have a technician connect the KIT receiver to the control board, or do it yourself if you are at ease with electrical installations.
  3. Mount SOLO near the gate: no cables, two C batteries for about two years at around ten openings a day.
  4. In the 1Control app, copy the KIT remote to SOLO and test with the gate closed.

One SOLO handles up to 4 automations, even of different brands. Family and guests get free access in the app on their phone number, with days, times and an expiry date if needed; the administrator revokes it with one tap and sees the opening history. To be clear: if you cannot connect anything to the control board (a rented garage without the owner's consent, a shared gate without the building manager's agreement), SOLO is not for your Proteco gate.

ismartgate, Remootio and GSM gate openers

Search for ways to open a Proteco gate with your phone and you soon meet modules from other makers. ismartgate and Remootio are smart gate openers wired to the push-button input of the control board, each with its maker's app. A GSM module takes a SIM, is wired the same way and opens when an authorised number calls (see our GSM gate opener guide). They do the same job as the KIT, sending a command to the control board; what changes is the connection they need at the gate and the app. SOLO + KIT opens over Bluetooth with no network at the gate, and the KIT remote stays one more remote to use like the others.

Your Proteco gate from afar, by voice and from the car

On its own, SOLO works over Bluetooth within 15 to 20 metres, less through reinforced concrete: it needs no network, even in an underground car park, but it will not open from the office. To open from anywhere, add 1Control LINK: the hub stays indoors, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes commands to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres in a straight line. LINK brings Alexa, Google Home, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Siri Shortcuts already work with SOLO within Bluetooth range and, with LINK, from afar too. SOLO AUTO, the version you keep in the car, appears on CarPlay and Android Auto without LINK (see open your gate with CarPlay). With the KIT, all of this works just as with a copied remote.

FAQ: Proteco gates and your phone

Is there a Proteco app to open the gate with a smartphone?

Yes: Proteco Open Your World, on iOS and Android, within Tuya's Smart Life platform. According to Proteco, it needs an interface connected to the control board: the PQSB02 for Q80, Q60 and Q20 boards, the PQSK02 for Matrix and S-Park. On any control board there is also 1Control SOLO + KIT.

Can 1Control SOLO copy the Proteco Angie remote?

No. The compatibility checker marks the Angie as not copyable, and the other Proteco remotes are not in the catalogue. To open with your phone, the route is SOLO + KIT: SOLO copies the KIT remote, whose receiver is connected to the control board.

Do my Proteco remotes keep working with the KIT?

Yes. The KIT adds a receiver with its own remote and erases nothing from the control board memory: your Proteco remotes work as before.

Do I need internet at the gate to open with SOLO?

No: SOLO opens over Bluetooth within 15 to 20 metres. To open from afar, add LINK, which stays indoors and connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Summary: which route for your Proteco gate

With a Proteco Q80, Q60 or Q20 control board, or a Matrix or S-Park operator, and an installer to fit the interface, Open Your World is the manufacturer's route. On any other board, or to open over Bluetooth with no network at the gate, the way to open a Proteco gate with your phone is 1Control SOLO + KIT: the KIT is connected once, SOLO copies its remote and LINK adds distance, voice and the car. For a brand whose remote can be copied, see open a BFT gate with your phone.
