In short: with Clemsa, opening the garage door with your phone usually needs no wiring at all: 22 of the 24 Clemsa remotes in the compatibility checker copy, from fixed-code MASTERcode to MUTANcode, from the 868 MHz T-8 and E-CODE N to the older series. 1Control SOLO copies the remote you already use and opens the door from the 1Control app over Bluetooth, with no cables on the control board and no internet in the garage. Only the MUTAN N2 MINI and the crystal-based TX-1 do not copy: for those, the route is SOLO + KIT. Clemsa itself does not offer an app on its website for opening the garage from a phone.
Clemsa (CLEM, S.A.U.) is a Spanish maker of remotes and door operators based in San Sebastián de los Reyes, near Madrid; since 2010 it has been part of the FAAC Group, according to Clemsa's company page (in Spanish). Its branches and authorised distributors are in Spain, so if you own a Clemsa remote, the garage is quite likely there, for example under a holiday apartment. The general method for any brand is in our guide to a smart garage door opener without Wi-Fi.
Clemsa garage door and phone: the 3 options side by side
| Solution | What you need | Installation | Internet needed? | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1Control SOLO, wireless | A working Clemsa remote from the list and the 1Control app | No cables: copy in the app, battery-powered SOLO near the door | Not to open (Bluetooth); yes from afar, with the LINK hub | Bluetooth range 15-20 m; in a shared garage, agree where to mount it |
| 1Control SOLO + KIT | The KIT receiver with its own remote, SOLO and the 1Control app | A technician connects the receiver to the control board; SOLO with no cables | Not to open; yes from afar, with LINK | You need permission to work on the control board: the route for MUTAN N2 MINI and TX-1 |
| Smart module from another brand | A Wi-Fi or GSM module, power, signal in the garage | Wired to the push-button input of the control board | Wi-Fi: almost always; GSM: mobile network | Work on the control board, which in a shared building needs permission |
In a shared underground garage, a rented space or with an operator still under warranty, copying the remote onto SOLO is the only option that touches nothing. Clemsa has no app of its own for end users: its range covers remotes, receivers, operators and access control systems.
No work on the control board: 1Control SOLO copies the Clemsa remote
1Control SOLO learns the radio signal of your Clemsa remote once and sends it again whenever the app asks. It is not connected to the control board or to the mains: two C batteries, already fitted, last around two years at about ten openings a day. It is weatherproof and is mounted near the door. The 1Control app guides the copy:
- Read the model on the remote's label (table below, then the checker).
- Hold the remote against the notch on the left side of SOLO and keep the button pressed until the app tells you to release it.
- With a MUTANcode, T-8 or E-CODE N, which are rolling code, the app may ask for a final step at the receiver, as when a new remote is added: it explains what to do, a few metres from the door. With a fixed-code MASTERcode this step does not exist.
- With the door closed, tap the test button the app shows at the end: the door should start moving.
The remote must work, with a good battery: a lost or broken one cannot be copied. One copy per operator is enough, not one per person; the standard SOLO handles up to 4 operators, even of different brands, and the original remotes keep working. Family and guests get free access in the app on their phone number, with dates and time slots if you want. In shared garages with MUTAN receivers, adding remotes is usually handled by the building manager or the installer: ask them first.

Clemsa remotes and SOLO: 22 of 24 copy
The compatibility checker catalogue lists 24 Clemsa models. Twenty-two copy onto SOLO: MASTERcode and the older fixed-code series directly, the rolling-code MUTANcode, T-8 and E-CODE N with the step at the receiver if the app asks for it. Two do not copy.
| Clemsa remote | Frequency and coding | With 1Control SOLO |
|---|---|---|
| MASTERcode: MASTERCODE, MH, MH-E, DIGICODE MH | 433.92 MHz, fixed code | Copies |
| MUTANcode: MUTANCODE T2, T | 433.92 MHz, rolling code | Copies, with a possible step at the receiver |
| 868 MHz series: T-8, E-CODE N | 868.3 MHz, rolling code | Copies, with a possible step at the receiver |
| Older series: E, E20, EM, D, M-60, MT, MT-H, MT-X, MT-Y, MT-Z, FA, FAV, E-300, E-600 | fixed code, 286 to 306 MHz | Copies |

MUTAN-II is a family, not a model. According to Clemsa's technical manuals, it is the evolution of MUTANcode, with a key of its own for each installation and an anti-cloning system. If the label says MUTAN-II, N2, N4 or another reference, look for exactly that one in the list: do not pick the MUTANCODE T2 just because it looks similar. The frequency does not settle it either: two 433 MHz models can use different coding. The final word belongs to the compatibility checker, under Clemsa: compatibility always means "if the model is on the list".
For the MUTAN N2 MINI, the 30 MHz TX-1 and any remote that is not on the list, the route is SOLO KIT: a receiver with its own remote, which a technician connects to the control board and which SOLO copies, while your Clemsa remotes keep working. If you are unsure about the model, ask 1Control support before you buy.
Remootio, ismartgate or SOLO: wired module or copied remote
Search for how to open a Clemsa garage door with a phone and you soon find modules that are not made by Clemsa. Remootio has a page for Clemsa gates: according to the maker, the module is wired to the control board of the Clemsa operator and connects to the phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with its own app, remote access over the internet and an open or closed indication. ismartgate publishes wiring instructions for its devices on the Clemsa CLAS 16 and 16.1 control boards, powered by their own adapter and connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. A GSM module takes a SIM card, is wired the same way and opens when an authorised number calls.
They suit almost any operator, but you have to open the control board, provide power and have a signal in the garage, which is often missing underground; in a shared building you also need permission. SOLO starts from the radio signal: with a Clemsa remote from the list, the control board stays closed and the garage needs no network. With 1Control, the open or closed status comes from an opening sensor that works with LINK. Both approaches are compared in smart gate or garage opener: wired module or wireless.
Your Clemsa garage from afar, by voice and from the car
On its own, SOLO works over Bluetooth within 15-20 metres, less through reinforced concrete: it works without a network even in an underground garage, but not from home in another country. To open from afar you add 1Control LINK: the hub stays in the building, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes commands to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres in a straight line. For a holiday apartment with its garage in the basement of the block, the key question is where LINK can be placed. With LINK come Alexa, Google Home, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Siri Shortcuts already work with SOLO in Bluetooth range and, with LINK, from afar too. SOLO AUTO, the version you keep in the car, appears on CarPlay and Android Auto without LINK (see open your gate with CarPlay).
FAQ: Clemsa garage doors and your phone
Is there a Clemsa app to open the garage door with a phone?
Clemsa's website offers no app for end users: its range covers remotes, receivers, operators and access control systems. To open from a phone, you can wire a module from another brand to the control board, such as Remootio, or use 1Control SOLO, which copies the Clemsa remote you already use.
Which Clemsa remotes can 1Control SOLO copy?
22 of the 24 models in the checker catalogue (25/10/2026): MASTERCODE, MH, MH-E and DIGICODE MH at 433.92 MHz; MUTANCODE T2 and T at 433.92 MHz; T-8 and E-CODE N at 868.3 MHz; the older fixed-code series from 286 to 306 MHz. The MUTAN N2 MINI and the TX-1 do not copy: for them there is SOLO + KIT.
My remote says MUTAN-II: can it be copied?
It depends on the exact model: MUTAN-II is a Clemsa family, not a single model. MUTANCODE T2, T, T-8 and E-CODE N are on the list and copy, with a possible final step at the receiver; the MUTAN N2 MINI does not. If your model is not on the list, the copy is not confirmed and the route is SOLO + KIT.
Can I open my Clemsa garage when I am away?
Yes, with the LINK hub: it stays in the building, connects to the internet over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet and passes the command to SOLO over Bluetooth, within about 25 metres. Without LINK, SOLO only opens from close by, within 15-20 metres.
In short: with Clemsa, SOLO copies the remote you already have
With Clemsa the table is short: MASTERcode, MUTANcode, T-8, E-CODE N and the older series copy; the MUTAN N2 MINI and the TX-1 go through the KIT. Opening a Clemsa garage door with your phone becomes a few minutes of copying onto 1Control SOLO, with no work on the control board; LINK adds distance, voice and the car, and shared access replaces extra remotes, handy for whoever opens the holiday home for you. Remootio, ismartgate and GSM modules remain an option when the control board can be wired. For an up-and-over or sectional door at home, see also the roller garage door app.
